Privacy & Data
Does LomuTab store my data in the cloud?
No. Everything — your notes, bookmarks, docs, settings — is stored locally in Chrome storage on your device. LomuTab has no backend, no database, and no user accounts.
Does it work offline?
Yes. LomuTab works fully offline. The only features that require a network connection are Weather (your API key), Stocks (your API key), and sharing docs or screenshots via a public link.
What data does LomuTab collect?
None. There is no analytics, no telemetry, and no tracking of any kind. LomuTab does not know how many people use it or what they do with it. The only external requests are the ones you explicitly trigger (Weather, Stocks, or sharing a doc/screenshot).
What happens to my notes if I uninstall the extension?
Your data lives in Chrome's local storage. Uninstalling the extension will delete that data. If you want to keep your notes, export them before uninstalling — copy the text or use the Docs export feature.
Getting started
Do I need an account to use LomuTab?
No account required — not for the free tier, not for Pro. Pro is activated with a license key you receive after purchase. No sign-up, no password.
Is LomuTab available for Firefox or Safari?
Not yet. LomuTab is currently a Chrome extension only. Firefox and other browser support is on the roadmap.
Will it slow down my browser?
LomuTab is designed to load in under 500ms. It runs only when you open a new tab or the side panel — it does not run in the background on other pages.
What is the side panel?
The side panel is a tools drawer that opens alongside any webpage — so you can take a screenshot, check your clipboard, write a note, or run the Pomodoro timer without leaving the page you're on. Open it from the Chrome toolbar.
Pro plan
How does Pro work? Is there a free trial?
Pro unlocks additional widgets (Tab Manager, Color Tools, Weather, Stocks) and removes limits on widgets, notes, and docs. There's no free trial, but the free tier is genuinely usable with no time limit. You can upgrade anytime from the Settings page inside the extension.
How do I activate my Pro license?
After purchase you'll receive a license key by email. Open LomuTab → Settings → Pro → enter your key. That's it — no reinstall needed.
Can I use my license on multiple devices?
Yes. Your license key works on any Chrome installation you own.
What happens if I cancel Pro?
Your data stays intact. You lose access to Pro widgets and your limits revert to the free tier. Nothing is deleted.
Features
Can I share a doc or note with someone who doesn't have LomuTab?
Yes. Docs and screenshots generate a public link that anyone can open in a browser — no extension, no account needed on their end. Notes use a read-only share link encoded in the URL.
How many widgets can I add?
The free plan supports up to 6 active widgets on the grid at once. Pro removes this limit.
Can I have multiple layouts?
Not yet — LomuTab currently supports one widget grid layout. Multiple saved layouts are on the roadmap.
Does the Pomodoro timer keep running when I switch tabs?
Yes. The timer runs in the background and keeps ticking even when you navigate away from the new tab page.
